Fifteen years ago our arts organization was formed by a few passionate artists to create economic and networking opportunities in Skagit County for artists and art lovers. Our organization is growing and evolving to meet the changing needs of its members and local art community.
Skagit Artist (SA) is an organization whose mission is to promote the visual arts by developing economic and networking opportunities in Skagit County. Our vision is to develop Skagit County into a cultural destination for visitors worldwide.
ART promotes true prosperity. Art travelers are ideal tourists, staying longer and spending more to seek out authentic cultural experiences.
ART education improves academic performance. Students with an education rich in the arts have higher GPAs and standardized test scores, and lower dropout rates.
ART events are good for local merchants.. Thousands of tourists flock to Skagit County during annual art events. Our local merchants and service-oriented businesses benefit from our invitations to art enthusiasts and collectors nationwide.
ART has a positive social impact and improves healthcare. Nearly one-half of the nation’s health care institutions provide arts programming for patients, families, and even staff.
